Notes: Growing in grass near an orange-barked two-needled pine (likely Japanese red pine, Pinus densiflora). Same date and location as observation 80822.

I don’t generally think to put wild fungi in my mouth (at least in the field), and I forgot that a peppery taste is an identifying characteristic of this species.
