Observation 81085: Phyllotopsis nidulans (Pers.) Singer

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Arora: 2-8cm; Barron 1-8cm; 1-3 in.; Bessette 1-3 in sometimes wider; Macrofungi associated with Oaks of NE NA 1-3 in.

This one measured 4" so I am putting it down as the largest on record, just for the time being, of course!

I found some fairly large specimens recently…

I did not measure them but they were probably pretty close to these. I’ll have to dig through and see if I have any photos.

it is the biggest one I have seen or know of. Nothing wrong with noting that. Of course, it was quite smelly.
