I wasn’t able to pick up a gill edge, but can at least show how it behaves in the microscope. Maybe I’ll make another try when I find some larger ones..
I haven’t tried it before, but it’s an extremely tough one to slice or pick small parts from.

It would be good to get a photo of the separable gill edge, and how elastic it is. Don’t know if there is a good photo of that around.
