It’s always good not to take for some good photo identifications emerging on the Internet. Are not always well identified. Be very careful with that, especially from existing albums of people dedicated solely to photography. A mycologist is always a good photographer, but not always a photographer is a good mycologist.
That’s motivation to keep taking great photos! That Wikipedia article is currently the #2 Google search result for Coprinopsis lagopus behind Kuo’s website, making your photographic contribution as valuable as any published field guide, I’d say. Congrats!
Oh, and the documentation of contributions to Wikipedia, and therefore transparency, is one of it’s great assets. A couple of clicks and I see that Sasata (Wikipedia User:Sasata) both uploaded the image and added it to the article. His volume (and quality) of contributions to fungal articles on Wikipedia is mind blowing.
I don’t mind one bit. I think Peter Santerre did it.
