Observation 81502: Lactarius flavidus Boud.

When: 2011-10-21

Collection location: Thoiry, France [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found under oaks, beech, fir.

Viscid cap and stipe, white latex, stains purple, lightly latently acrid, no reactions to KOH.

You can see the KOH in the first posed shot, as the two damp spots on the lower left side of the cap.

A couple people at the SMG meeting agreed that this one was clearly L. flavidus.
