Observation 81733: Flammulina velutipes (Curtis) Singer

No herbarium specimen

Notes: This seems especially shiny, and too young to show the dark purple-brown spores, and the source of the dusty white coating which looked like it could be a spore deposit is not clear. But it is late fall, on wood, dull orange, cespitose, etc., etc. I am surprised by the wide spacing and clear appearance of the gills.
