When: 2011-11-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The last 8 days we’ve experienced 32-degree night time weather or lower. This species is stil growing. A gill cross section was made within 20 minutes of harvest and put under the scope. Pleurocystidia and cheilocystidia observed, ruling out Ps. stuntzii.

I’m not calling them pleurocystidia as of recent.

I’m calling them “cystidia-like images captured from gill cross sections – far away from the true gill edges.” More research is needed using freshly harvested mushrooms comparing preparate cut outs and gill cross sections.
