Observation 82347: Ramaria flavigelatinosa var. megalospora Marr & D.E. Stuntz

When: 2011-11-10

Collection location: Salt Point State Park, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Tom Bruns (pogon)

Specimen available

This was collected by Nhu Nguyen, he and I spent a hour or so trying to key it.

It seems to be a little too orange and lacking the yellow “belly band” that Exeter describes, but it fits in all other ways to flavigelatinosa var. megalospora, and it looks very similar to the photo on Mykoweb.

The specimen had slighly bitter taste.
