Observation 82626: Gomphidius subroseus Kauffman

No herbarium specimen

Notes: These things were growing in mixed hardwoods, Live Oak and Laurel. They were covered in snotty slime top to bottom, even the gills were covered with a slimy “veil” of clear, thick goo.

Recognized by sight: Pink cap, slime veil, can’t see stipe base for yellow color. G. smithii is similar without yellow on stipe base.
