Notes: Found around a stump, north side of a ridge, mixed oak forest, some pawpaw in the area.

Recognized by sight: Fronds are much thinner than Berkeley’s Polypore.
Later observations here, the clumps darkened as they deteriorated.

but I would lean towards Meripilus. Any close ups? Pictures of black staining? Spores?
