Observation 83102: Agaricus augustus Fr.

When: 2011-11-23

Collection location: Teague Hill Open Space Preserve, San Mateo Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Tom (LanLord)

No specimen available

I’m not overly sure what this was, from the top I thought some kind of Agaricus, but the gills were still fairly whitish even after the veil partially broke.

It was a solitary specimen. So I can’t tell if older ones would have had darker gills. Perhaps it was Agaricus, perhaps some sort of Leucoagaricus or Chlorophyllum.
