Observation 83159: Mycena sect. Filipedes (Fr.) Quél.
When: 2011-11-20
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Large Mycena, growing from cracks in a decorticated log, in a mixed forest (Tualatin Hills Nature Park).

No particular odor noted.

Spores 9-11 × 6-7 microns. No pleuro- or caulocystidia observed. The shape of the cheilocystidia puts it in section Filipedes, where no described species (in books by Maas Geesteranus and Robich) match.

M. galericulata would be a very good match, but for the cheilocystidia, which should be “clavate to more or less irregularly shaped”.
