the main difference i see is the stipe attachment to the cap as well as the decurrent gills.
that picture from poland actually bears more resemblance to the specimen imo…
although, i have a feeling it is neither.

we could be dealing with two different species on two different continents. Renee LeBeuf has a good series of pictures on the Quebec site here.

My observation on this site I think is the same as hers. I see it once a year or so and almost always inside a hollow log or hollowed out stump.

This picture from Poland is something else.

I saw O. lignatilis in the Bavarian Forest Nationalpark some years ago with clustered habit. Also I mean the basidiocarps has slightly decurrent gills similar to the one on bloodworm’s photos. I will take a look at my photo archive when I’m back at home in a few days to check this.

Clustered habit is wrong and decurrent (albeit weakly) gills do not fit O. lignatilis.
