The true

L. crinitus is “not distinctly squamose” according to David Pegler’s 1983 monograph of the genus. It is also “predominantly glabrescent” and apparently restricted to tropical America. Depending on where this was collected (Shroomery observer has been asked to provide approximate location), it may be outside L. crinitus’ distribution as well.
