Caps up to 6.0 cm across.
They seemed dry and rather fragile.
The spores were ~ 7.1-8.8 X 4.8-5.3 microns.
KOH on the cap was grayish.

Beautiful collection, beautiful observation, but I am not familiar with this species. Never seen it.
Let me give you a perspective — today I walked all day long throughout the Mendocino ($pendocino, as it is called nowadays) woods and saw no new to me cort species. This one I am not familiar with.
Mike Davis found another new to me cort recently. Apparently, 5 years collecting is not enough…D.
