Observation 836: Agaricus californicus Peck
When: 2006-10-17
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found more of these around behind the building next to mine at work. In these the penolic odor was not a strong, the cap are lighter in color, not so brown, and the stipe doesn’t stain yellow much, only a little. But still a californicus.

A large group of californicus, a few in a cespitose cluster. I cut/bruised the edges of a few to show off the yellow staining of cap edges.
994
Cut in half to show the staining only at the edges of the cap, and only slighty (but still there) in the base of the stipe. Also the bugs like these.
