When: 2011-11-11

Collection location: St. Genis, France [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found in grass, under pine.

Ok, start of unknown grey Tricholomas, first in a series. These were found under a pine tree. The caps are fibrous to felty and evenly grey, the stipes show an evidence of a very light, very thin veil, breaking open at mid-stipe.

Yeah, ok… but not very satisfying. They are different enough from what I find up the hill under spruce/fir. Here it was pine. The caps are more consistently grey with a thicker surface. The veil is much more evident. The gills are more grey… Oh, well, I can’t ask for too much from grey Tricholomas I guess.
