Observation 84264: Cortinarius subgenus Phlegmacium (Fr.) Fr.

Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: KOH wine-red on the cap, no reaction on flesh, flesh purple and gills purple beneath surface (I interpreted this as staining at first, but I think it was innate color). Only issue with C. lilaciotinctus I can find is lack of KOH rxn on flesh.

…this is in the same group with C.cedretorum ,see lilac flesh. although it lacks of pink-red staining on the flesh

this with Dimitar today, I think the lack of pink KOH reaction on flesh (darker wine on cap) rules out C. lilaciotinctus
