In A. silvatica, the cap margin is striate, the stipe is white to cream and exannulate, and bulb has a volval limb that suggests the pantherinoid or gemmatoid form in sect. Amanita. The spores are reported to be inamyloid.


To my eyes, the specimen looks very much like A. flavoconia var. inquinata.

It must have been a very talented dive bombing bird to hit a target this small. :)

There’s a small typo. Guzman’s species from Quntana Roo is Amanita silvatica.
