But this one was just redder than the others. I will include a picture I took with the same settings of a similar mushroom that I found. They look more like the one in Walt’s link.

Cortinarius sanguineus ia a look-alike
As I recall C. marylandensis prefers hardwoods and has a purple KOH reaction.
