Yes, in Panama many villages have the same name, in different Provinces. Panama Oeste, or Western Panama is the part of Panama province at all western of Panama canal. May be a new province soon.

Eduardo, when you create a location, you are asked to define it specifically with a Google Maps-like interface. Rather than have me poke around every teeny tiny village of “Panama Oeste” (a non-existent province, as far as I can tell), it would be much more convenient if you, the collector, were to pinpoint them yourself and name them accordingly.

If you have a location that is west of the canal but still within the Panama province, make mention of this and any other “near to”/“down the road from” style remarks in the notes, not the location name. Otherwise, locations tend to get messy. Anything in Panama Province should probably be labeled as such.
