Collection location: Jackson Demonstration State Forest, Mendocino Co., California, USA [Click for map]
This specimen was about 16.7 cm high and ~ 12.5 cm wide.
Spores on these were relatively small, ~ 6.9-8.0 X 4.4-5.0 microns and with lumpy warts.
The branch tips were pinkish and turned slightly darker with age.
The stipe flesh appeared to be slowly amyloid(purple) with Melzers.
Ferric sulfate on the branches and tips did turn green.
