Observation 86107: Agaricus sylvicola (Vittad.) Peck
When: 2011-09-09
No herbarium specimen

Notes: One of the first few fungi I found, my notes are very elementary. What’s hard to see is a hollow stem that is orange on the inner walls. The gills are barely to semi-attached to the stem. Ring is highly malleable. The cap is 2.75 cm across, the stipe is 1 – 2 cm thick. After leaving it on some paper overnight to get a spore print, I awoke to a white and purple liquid mess, with the culprit maggots scurrying about.
