Original Herbarium Label: Coniophora puteana (Schumach.) P. Karst.
Jim Ginns annotated this specimen (4 April 2011):
OC2100110-033 Coniophora puteana Very similar to C. arida, but C. arida does not have such thick and fissuerd fruiting bodies and is more olive than brown. Also the spores of C. puteana are usually broadly rounded and the appex (the end away from the apiculus), whereas in C. arida the spores are typically obovate (narrowed at the apex). And some C. puteana spores contain small, globose droplets.
