Observation 87448: Russula aeruginea group
When: 2011-09-24
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Most pale mild Russula are excellent edibles, while fairly toxic to the mind of the taxonomist. This one is a close relative of Russula aeruginea, but a distinct species. There are other greenish mild Russula in the Sierra/Cascade range. The best way to differentiate is the spore color. This Russula is commonly buried in the duff under fir trees (Abies concolor, Abies grandis). This species is also Russula aeruginea sensu Thiers.
