This species is exactly the same as what I call Cortinarius turmalis from Idaho and seems to be in line with A.H.Smith’s concept too. Interestingly in the Tubingen work, this species (+/- 1-2 bp) is treated as Cortinarius claricolor, but I am not entirely sold on that concept as the material I see from Sweden has more orangish coloration. Anyway, this Yosemite collection appears to be widespread in Western North America…
