Observation 87756: Mycena leptocephala (Pers.) Gillet
When: 2012-02-11
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Found at several places in Tualatin Hills Nature Park, growing in duff and on fallen branches. Caps gray-brown with white margin. Stem pruinose all over.

Spores 7-9 × 4-5 microns. Basidia both 2- and 4-spored.

Inflated caulocystidia (and other characteristics) point to M. leptocephala. The only problem is with the odor: it is mild and pleasant (like some vegetable, perhaps raphanoid). Not nitrous at all, which it should be in a leptocephala, according to the descriptions.
