Interesting that they are so scattered. I wonder if there are hidden hyphae connecting all these squamules? Or are we witnessing the sudden simultaneous colonizing of an entire surface? I wonder what they’ll turn into if so. Are these baby C. apodocarpa?
I know I’ll be verbally abused for posting these non-descript squamules, but they didn’t seem to be connected to anything more prominent as far as lichens go. The substrate is sandstone, and it’s in shady place near water.
