Recognized by sight: Not peniopHora. Something like an anamorph of a nectria group…I posted this last year and didn’t get any bites. Gary and I see it in central park all the time

my observation of last year:

but since then I saw a presentation on Nectria. I does look the same, but the example I saw was much smaller – in fact you could not even tell it was orange w/o magnification. It looked like black dots. But with magnification, it looked identical to this. I have not done the research to tell them apart. I agree with John, the photos on MO indicate Nectria.
