Observation 88247: Psathyrella longipes (Peck) A.H. Sm.
When: 2012-02-19
Who: Byrain
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing from the most rotting section of an oak log on the side of the path and they are strongly hygrophanous.

4-spore basidia are present, pleurocystida absent, and I did not find any brachybasidioles which are supposed to be present, but the specimens were a little over-ripe by time I scoped them so that might be to blame.

Spore range = (11) 12 – 13 × 7 – 8 (9) μ
Average spore = 12.33 × 7.87 μ
Average Q = 1.58
15 spores measured
