The caterpillar was deceased by the time I checked the container. But whether it died first and then was taken over by the white growth or if the white growth caused the death is unknown.
it was still moving with this white layer already present, it’s not an entomopathogen, at least not in the sense that I’m familiar with, whether or not the white stuff was in fact the cause of death.
This caterpillar was kept in a closed container where it eventually was killed by this growth. I’m not sure if this was a fungus.
