Observation 89961: Hydnum umbilicatum Peck
When: 2012-03-18
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Smaller, more slender stalk than H. repandum. I usually find this small species of hedgehog at this location while hunting Cantharellus sp. in the fall months- very late in the season to find this fresh fruiting. Fruiting solo under Salal in mixed conifer canopy.

Temp: low 40’s.
