They usually show C.rangiferina with droopy tips, and C.mitis with perky ones – that’s why I named this one. But I’m afraid that visual clue is subjective.
Can’t get anywhere in Thompson’s key without spot tests. Phooey. Branches in 4’s at tips… but that’s not so helpful. Rules out subtenuis, but we already knew that based on color. Not stellaris, that has such a distinctive compact head. But what about mitis, for example? C. rangiferina is as good a guess as any.
