Observation 90530: Pseudoplectania nigrella (Pers.) Fuckel

No herbarium specimen

Notes: These small cup fungi were fruiting in large Numbers from the mossy edge of an old road that is now used as a trail. Both hemlocks and mixed hardwoods were nearby. They are more hard and brittle than jelly-like. Mycowalt was there and collected a few specimens.

It was cool to find these. They looked even blacker in person, but I brightened them up with long exposure to show detail. This is a new one for me.
