If you have a tripod, use the timer when taking pictures. It would also be good to raise the av number (Lower the aperture, better depth of field) and adjust the shutter speed to compensate for the light levels if you can. If you don’t want to release exif data, you can easily remove it with the save settings in gimp which is free here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
That will also let you adjust the colors and other stuff to match what you saw in reality better. :)

To be honest I never concentrated on macro differences between them too. But I can’t think of some now. Both can have or have not a subiculum, both are in shape like mammal glands, both are ranging from brown to black, shiny or dull, on wood or other plant debris, no ecological special niches (at least here in Europe with me). Hm, would be interesting working differences out!

a remote would probably make all the difference if you’re experiencing camera shake, but that may or may not be an option on your camera.

Rosellinia have brown spores with germ slit similar to Hypoxylon species (and often a gelatinous sheathe) with or without appendices whereas Lasiosphaeria has boomerang-like spores in color ranging from hyaline to brownish.
So you say I can keep my Panasonic? How did you manage to know I have one?
And I take almost everything with macro function. But it seems I get older and more trembly even with tripod ;)
