Observation 92154: Suillus viscidus f. obscurus (Kühner) Armada

When: 2011-09-13

Collection location: near Prebersee, Haiden, Bezirk Tamsweg, Salzburg, Austria [Click for map]

Who: Gerhard Koller (Gerhard)

Specimen available

Notes:
Taxonomy is a bit out of hand in Suillus viscidus and formae.
Most mycologists synonymize Suillus viscidus var. brunneus with Suillus viscidus fo. obscurus. I do not believe this. var. brunneus never has reddish colors.
But maybe it would be best just to ignore all these forms and varieties within the viscidus complex.
