of sketchy, overlapping, contradicting Auricularia literature has been hashed out in detail elsewhere on the site. Suffice it to say, the group is, for the moment, a minor taxonomic nightmare, with some species currently defined on the basis of abhymenial hair length; a very, very variable trait. The bounty remains in effect for anyone who can come forward with sensible Auricularia literature, especially something pertaining specifically to the Neotropics.
