Notes: In wood chip mulch in a city park. Mulch looks less than 12 months old. Nearby vegetation includes shrubs and turf grass; the nearest mature trees are about 50 feet away (fruit trees, pines). A little dried out after a week of dry weather and temps of 60-70°F the last three days.


Morel on the left is bent over with its tip stuck in the ground; young morel on the right displays dark stem mentioned by Kuo
