Observation 92636: Hygrocybe acutoconica (Clem.) Singer

No herbarium specimen

Notes: habitat: growing out of the ground under some trees, probably oaks but not sure…it was popping up from underneath dead leaves – i almost missed it! the cap was sort of slimy and the stem fibrous, with a bit of a twist to it. Did not stain black at all, a la Hygrocybe conica. No discernible scent. The canary yellow gills had this amazing forked design going on…
