P. rufescens is also documented to be phyllidiate sometimes. (Almost all species of Peltigera will grow phyllidia along stress-fractures when environmentally stressed.)

I think this has more of the overall look of rufescens than praetextata. The margins are too upturned, the thallus too thick and overly-tomentose, the rhizines too squarrose and matted, the veins too broad and with that distinctive pinkish color rufescens (and canina) sometimes gets. That’s my reasoning, at least. These are really hard to determine.
