No herbarium specimen

Notes: CAP

  • 2cm
  • dry, slightly tacky where wet
  • umbilecate
  • dark red/orange, lighter toward margin
  • inrolled margin

GILLS

  • adnate to decurrent
  • close
  • cream colored

STALK

  • same length as cap width, 4-6mm thick
  • slightly enlarged below but roughly equal
  • inner flesh same color as gills

SPORE PRINT

  • off-white to cream

ODOR

  • mild
  • tasted day-old caps and they were mildly acrid

MILK

  • scanty, white
  • seemed unchanging, but have to investigate further

HABITAT

  • in moss under Douglas fir
