Observation 93009: Panaeolus semiovatus (Sowerby) S. Lundell & Nannf.
When: 2012-04-19
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found in massive pile of horse feces mixed with some hay. They are quite large maybe 2.5 inch diamiter of cap. I remember seeing pictures of these I think they might be some sort of Panaelus? Thanks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the cap was quite slimy.

P. semiovatus is what I should have proposed. It is a more robust species

Now that you mention it maybe not. Next to these but not in the frame was one similar looking to the very left in the picture. It had even a fatter cap and the caps looked the same. I assumed they were the same species, but you are probably right. Which did you believe was the Pan papp, the one on the very left or the rest?
