Notes: These “deliciosas” were collected underneath live apple trees intermingled with smallish Black Cherry trees. Walnut trees also in the vicinity, and some spruce (I think they were spruce.) This is the third time I have collected this type morel in this area. I know of another spot in Luzerne County where the (presumably) same type grows in an almost identical habitat… live apple trees and small Black Cherry.

Similar eastern NA “deliciosa” varieties are placed by Kuo et al in the esculenta clade.
