Spores with two drops, 24-25 × 8.5-11 microns (too large for G. infula).

The log

The log was not big; perhaps 15 cm in diameter. Cottonwood and willow is all that grows in the area, but many logs on and near the beach are brought there by floods. I’m poor at recognizing dead trees, but this log was quite rotten and would probably be difficult even for someone better skilled.

I’ve seen this before, but always on ground (or so I thought). Any idea what species the log was? Cottonwood? Oak? Willow? Something else?
