Growing on “mossy conifer logs”

I don’t have a record on the habitat, but the moss in the photo (Isothecium stoloniferum) would indicate that it was growing on a dead coniferous branch/log. Sorry, I don’t have more details on the spores. I will check the collection as soon as I have some time to dig it out. Oluna

Any more notes on habitat? Was it just a deep bed of moss, or moss on tree bark? Did you, or can you, see if the spores have a plage, even if they are smooth? Looks like one I see around here, with smooth spores, that also have a plage. Also the spores are dextrinoid, but it looks like these should be also…
