Perhaps compare to Leucopaxillus eucalyptorum. It seems like a good fit.

Edit: Hmmm, perhaps not, I think I just got excited as it specifically mentioned “..concentric zones of watermark-like patches..” It doesn’t seem very close in a few other characteristics though.

Oddly enough they sit in Agaricales rather then Boletales also.

The caps had a very ‘bolete like’ texture and appearance. It appears that Paxillus and Austropaxillus are both in the order Boletales. I didn’t realize that until I looked them up. The patterns on some of them were really cool, kind of like they were water marked.

That cap is really odd and very cool.

I can’t offer much help on ID, can’t even seem to find something close to it.
