Observation 93774: Xylaria polymorpha (Pers.) Grev.
When: 2012-05-03
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This was seen growing in my front yard. I noticed it for the first time today, Thursday, May 3rd, 2012. I have never seen it before in the four years I’ve lived here. It grows under a redbud tree on the southwest side of the house that receives moderate afternoon sun. There is a black powdery film covering it.
