Spores smooth, hyaline 5.8–6.16–6.8 ± 0.28 × 2.5–2.97–3.5 ± 0.31 μm, Q value 1.74–2.09–2.4 ± 0.21 (n= 10/1).

Pleurocystidia average 22.4 × 12.1 μm

Thanks, I will measure these from the lab and order a ruler for my scope this afternoon because I’ve been asked to provide measurements for some other observations as well. I’d like to somehow streamline the process of description writing. I think something like a program with check boxes and input fields for measurements that produces a thorough paragraph description would be useful.

I don’t have the text in front of me that I did when I was combing through Lentinus a week or so ago. When I did have it, I doubt I found any reason to believe this was not L. strigosus. I think the intention was to encourage you to buff up the ob with more micrographs for the sake of comprehensiveness, since so few Lentinus on MO have any microscopy to speak of.

I will have to dig this one up to do that, am I looking for something specific?
Could this be something other than L. srigosus?
