Notes: Spring oyster with that beautiful vase shape – can it be anything but P. ostreatus? Growing from the top of a Tulip poplar log.

Somehow my first search did not turn up the other observations; I am not familiar enough with this species to vote for it or rule out the others. Going back and getting some more photos would be nice, but this specimen may be too out of reach for a revisit by me this week.

about this being the first photo on MO of a typical cornucopiae! The others are a bit questionable..
