Notes: hot, exposed granitic rock outcrops on south slope near top of knob; thin continuous brownish-greenish crust, K+y, C-, KC-, apothecia in slightly raised swellings with dark but pruinose rims, disk black crater-l ike, epihymenium greenish to somewhat bluish turning golden in K, hymenium clear and somewhat inspersed, hypothecium? algae abundant on either side of apothecium, cortex thick and POL+ small crystals, paraphys es very moniliform and IKI+ golden, asci pale bluish unornamented thick tips and golde-brown interior; SPORE 8 per ascus, ellipsoid-oblong, simple, smooth, 1-2 bubble common, ~20×12um, IKI+gold; determined by J. Lendemer; specimen at NY
